Round Two: The 6-Month Coaching Program For Second Time Moms
Because it's not the same ride. New kid, new dynamics, and a new version of you trying to hold two whole worlds at once. Nobody prepared you for that part.
I'm Alexa, mom of two and founder of Second Time Mom Co. I created Round Two, a 6-month 1:1 coaching program built specifically for moms who are pregnant with their second or already have them. Each month, we work through one focused area built around the real challenges of round two. Not generic "new mom" advice, because you're not new to this.
You're new to this specific version of it.
In 6 months, you'll have a plan with your partner, real help in place, connection with both kids, and the career and life you weren't willing to lose.
You survived the first round of motherhood. You know what a 3am feeding feels like, what sleep deprivation does to a marriage, and what it's like to lose yourself for a minute in the diaper-and-daycare shuffle. So why does baby #2 feel like it's cracking you open all over again?
The program
What's Included
12 private 1 hour sessions (2x per month for 6 months)
A personalized intake before we start, so month 1 goes deep right away
Voxer support between sessions, so you're never stuck waiting two weeks for support
Your personal playbook at the end, with everything you built in one place so you can keep using it long after we're done
The order flexes to where you are. If you're still pregnant, we start with your partnership and support plan so they're in place before baby arrives. If baby's already here, we start wherever you need it most.
-
Why this matters: Everyone's told you that your needs go to the bottom of the list now. If you don't name what you're protecting now, it quietly disappears by month 3.
What we'll cover:
The stuff you haven't said: fear of not loving two the same, feeling closer to one, grieving life with just one
What you're carrying from the first time around, and what you want to be different
An honest look at your career, friendships, body, and interests. What's already shrinking?
The story you're bracing with, what you expect this season to cost you, and where you learned it
Choosing your 3 non-negotiables
You'll walk away with:
Your 3 non-negotiables, written down, plus what protecting each one looks like in a real week
A clear picture of what "more" means for you. This becomes your north star for the next 5 months.
-
Why this matters: The who's-more-tired fight is never really about sleep. It's about work nobody can see. Your partner is feeling the jump from 1 to 2 too, and without a plan, you both end up keeping score.
What we'll cover:
Mapping the invisible load: every task, and who owns it start to finish (the thinking, planning, and doing)
A night plan: sleep shifts, and who's with the baby vs. your oldest
How to talk to a partner who's spiraling or checked out, with real scripts
A 20-minute weekly check-in you'll actually keep
Staying a couple, not just two tired coworkers
You'll walk away with:
A two-kid plan you both agreed to: who owns what, a night plan, and a weekly check-in already on the calendar
-
Why this matters: You have less help than you were promised. When you do ask, it comes out vague, so you get vague help back. Then it feels like nobody shows up, and you do it all yourself.
What we'll cover:
A support check: who said they'd help vs. who actually does, and where the gaps are
Turning "let me know if you need anything" into asks with a day, a time, and a task
Family help that costs more than it saves (opinions, unsolicited advice, grandparents with rules)
Paid support worth considering: postpartum doula, mother's helper, meal delivery, cleaning
The guilt of asking for help, and the harder part, letting yourself receive it
You'll walk away with:
A support map with named people and specific asks
Scripts for asking, and for setting limits with family
-
Why this matters: This is where the guilt lives. Your oldest is acting out, you feel closer to one of them, and you're scared you broke something. You don't need more time you don't have. You need connection that fits your actual life.
What we'll cover:
What's normal for your oldest right now (regression, clinginess, big feelings) and how to respond without losing it
The "closer to one" feeling: naming it, letting go of the shame, and what it does and doesn't mean
10-minute rituals and one-on-one time that's actually realistic
A plan for the hardest moments, like a meltdown mid-feed
Getting your partner in as your oldest's go-to person during baby-heavy stretches
You'll walk away with:
2 to 3 connection rituals built into your real weekly schedule
A go-to plan for the hard moments, so you're not making it up at 5pm
-
Why this matters: You're probably running on rules you never chose, from Instagram, your mom, mom friends, and your own first-kid perfectionism. That's why you're exhausted even when things are working.
What we'll cover:
A look at your rules around screens, feeding, sleep, the house, activities, your body, and how you "should" look
Where each rule came from, and whether it still fits
Dropping rules out loud to your partner, mom, and friends, without over-explaining
Handling judgment and unsolicited opinions
Setting "good enough" standards for your home and routines
You'll walk away with:
Your own short list of rules you're keeping
The list you're dropping, already said out loud to at least one person
-
Why this matters: Big decisions usually get made from panic or guilt. You shrink the trips, the plans, and the career because "that's what happens with two," even when you don't have to. This month, you decide on purpose.
What we'll cover:
Work: go back, scale back, pivot, or pause, and what each option really costs and gives you
Childcare: your options, timing, and the guilt that comes with it
The fear of "less": separating what's actually true from the story, together with your partner
Revisiting your month 1 non-negotiables: what held and what shifted
A plan for when things slide (sick weeks, regressions, a new job)
You'll walk away with:
Clear decisions on work, childcare, and money
A 90-day plan
Your full playbook, with everything from all 6 months in one place
Round Two FAQ
What is Round Two?
Round Two is a 6-month coaching program for moms preparing for or navigating their second baby. It's built specifically for women who already know the newborn basics — what they need this time is help with the parts nobody prepares you for: managing two kids, protecting your marriage, rebuilding your identity, and figuring out logistics that were a non-issue the first time around.
Is Round Two therapy?
No. Round Two is coaching, not therapy. It's forward-focused, goal-oriented, and structured around your specific transition into a two-kid household. It does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you're navigating postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, or another clinical concern, therapy is the right fit — not coaching — and your coach can help you find an appropriate referral.
What does support between sessions look like?
You'll have access to me on Voxer, a voice and text messaging app, Monday through Friday. Send a quick voice note from the car or a text during nap time, and I'll reply within 1 business day. Use it for quick questions, prepping for a hard conversation, sharing a win, or getting unstuck. It's not for emergencies. If you're ever in crisis, call 911 or reach out to a crisis line right away.
Can my therapist also be my coach?
No, under any circumstances. Coaches at Second Time Mom Co. never take on current or former therapy clients as coaching clients. This is a firm ethical boundary, not a case-by-case judgment call — it protects you and keeps the two relationships separate and unconflicted.
How long is the program?
Six months. This is a fixed-term commitment, not an ongoing subscription. The timeline is intentional — enough time to actually move through a full transition (pregnancy through the fourth trimester, or the early months with two kids), not just skim the surface.
What does Round Two actually cover?
Preparing your household, routines, and relationship for baby #2
Splitting time, energy, and attention between two kids without feeling like you're failing both
Protecting your marriage/partnership during the highest-strain season
Rebuilding a sense of identity that got flattened the first time around
Practical logistics specific to second-time moms: childcare for two, sibling adjustment, managing the mental load at double the scale
Do I have to commit to the full 6 months?
Yes. Round Two is a full-term program, and clients commit to the complete 6 months upfront. This isn't a pay-as-you-go or drop-in model — the structure works best when you're in for the whole arc.
Who is Round Two for?
Round Two is for moms who are pregnant with or newly parenting their second child and want structured support navigating the transition — not moms looking for their first introduction to parenthood, and not moms looking for clinical mental health treatment.
Who is Round Two NOT for?
First-time moms (the program assumes baseline newborn experience)
Anyone currently seeking treatment for a diagnosable mental health condition — that's therapy's job, not coaching's
Current or former therapy clients of any Second Time Mom Co. coach
are there any restrictions on where i live to be in this program?
This is the beauty of Coaching!! Since this is a coaching program and NOT therapy I am able to see clients anywhere is the world!
What's the difference between coaching and therapy?
Therapy treats mental health conditions and operates under a clinical license. Coaching is goal-oriented, non-clinical support focused on a specific life transition. Round Two is coaching: it's structured, credentialed, and thoughtful — but it is not a substitute for therapy, and it won't diagnose or treat anything.
